St. Francis, whose feast day is October 4th, loved the larks flying about his hilltop town. Legend says that the birds were the only audience he had as an early preacher. Francis is also credited with writing a Canticle of the Creatures, an ode to God’s living things. “All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures.” In his honor, we bless our beloved pets.
Bring your pets to the parish for a special blessing on October 4th at 12:00pm (in the upper parking lot) or at 3:30pm (in the recreation field).
